What a Slap in the Face

Wow, I am just stunned. This is the SECOND time I have been informed that someone other than me, or the series artist for Ship in a Bottle has been commissioned to draw a picture of my characters. I'm flattered that you think so highly of my works that you want to have a personalized picture of your very own to hang in your gallery. But then you go and insult me, you insult my series artist, and you insult everyone whom I have designated to work on the series by going and saying "Nope. I have no intention of giving you my money. I'll give it to some other fucking guy! Fuck you, Mace Paladino! You clearly don't need any money for your YEARS of work. AH HAHAHAHAHA!"

Ok, maybe that's hyperbolic. But it's how it makes me feel when you do that. I have personally opened commissions as low as TEN, MOTHERFUCKING, DOLLARS, and you didn't hire me. But you go and find someone ELSE to do it. And I designed these fucking characters! How dare you.

So, here's the rule, now and forever: YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO HIRE SOMEONE TO DRAW MY CHARACTERS, EVER. You may draw them yourself. You may submit them to my fan art gallery FOR FREE. You may even submit them to DA FOR FREE. But you may NEVER. EVER. Commission one of my characters from another artist, ever, or you will incur my wrath. And by that, I mean you will make EVERYONE suffer because you are STEALING from me, and the artist who works EXTREMELY hard to bring these comics to you. We can't make a living if you STEAL from us.
